On April 29th, 2008, the world lost an amazing man, his name was Craig Livingston. Craig
was 43 years old when he was killed on his ranch in a farming accident near Orchard,
Nebraska. Craig’s wife Valerie (41) and his 3 young daughters, Cadrien (10), Carlee Jo (18
months), and baby Cassie Jean (1 month) are left to tend not only themselves, but the family
ranch as well. Craig’s Kids Foundation has been established to honor not only Craig, but his
way of life. This foundation will serve multiple purposes—first and foremost, it will serve as a
educational fund for his girls. In the future, we plan to hold an annual event that will not only
honor Craig’s memory, but also continue the work that Craig and Valerie had started with the
youth in their community. Please check back often for updates!
Craig was a very dynamic person to say the least. He led a life that most people can only
hope to aspire to live. He began his rodeo career in high school and then continued on as a
professional bronc rider as a member of the PRCA. After that stint, he enlisted in the US Army
and attained the rank of Sargeant, during his 4 year enlistment. When he was honorably
discharged from the Army, Craig and Valerie began the “88 Ranch” near Valerie’s family
Along with being the hard worker and amazing father that Craig was, he also had a deep
faith. For over sixteen years, he and Valerie taught a child evangelism class at their church and
have touched many, many, young lives. In addition to the work that Craig did at the church,
he was also actively involved in the purebred Gelbvieh Association and many more boards
and organizations. Craig knew the value of hard work, never quitting until the end, the
importance of family, all while keeping his trademark smile and laugh, and there was not
many a day, if any, that he didn’t find the bright side.
